Lim Yen

Lim Yen is a Singapore-based storyteller with more

than 8 years of experience in editing long and short-
form fiction, docu, reality, commercial, branded

content, music videos, and more. In August 2023, she
was selected amongst 50 other filmmakers to partake
in a 10-day Apichatpong Weerasethakul Creators' Lab
in Yucatan, Mexico, produced by Playlab Films,
wherein she was open to the concept of "how not to
make a film". Adopting an alternative concept where
no scripts, shot lists, planning were involved, her
labour of love, titled “exits / entrances” was birthed. It
took her to a different culture, space and time. She
believes in always finding new and alternative ways of
telling stories and not conforming to conventions, and
being open to exploring the endless capabilities in
moving images. Her first feature edit "Orang Ikan" dir.
Mike Wiluan, is slated to gala premiere at the Tokyo
Intl. Film Fest come Oct 2024. She is currently
working on an Akanga-produced documentary feature
edit "E La Nave Va (And The Ship Sails On)" about
artist Milenko Prvacki. She will be headed to the
Cinemovement VII lab in Tokyo come Dec 2024.
