Rifqi Aqhari Bin Sahari

As a student of film, Rifqi Aqhari directed the documentary "A Landfill", a second-year project, as an exploration of a piece of history of what once was, what came before modern Singapore, a showcase about the sacrifices made for the country to develop.
Off of the southern coast of Singapore lay an island known as Pulau Semakau. What was a fishing village homed to many has now turned into an incineration and dumping plant for waste. The past is often a distant memory, and we often forget about how we got to our present. Pulau Semakau was one of these memories that contributed to the success of Singapore and it is important that we remember the lost past.
The film follows Isa Talip, a former resident of Pulau Semakau, in his day-to-day life as we understand his feelings behind living in Singapore and how life was like for him on the island.
