Wei Jie is a passionate freelance music teacher and conductor committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. With extensive experience in Chinese orchestration, Wei Jie has played a pivotal role in shaping the local arts scene by seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary music styles. His approach to music education is highly personalised, catering to students of all ages and abilities, while fostering creativity, self-expression, and a deep appreciation for music.
In addition to teaching and composing, Wei Jie is actively involved in community arts initiatives, using music as a powerful tool for connection, understanding, and social cohesion. His belief in the transformative power of music drives his efforts to build inclusive musical communities.
In 2020, Wei Jie founded "Hear You Later," a Chinese instrumental ensemble dedicated to promoting and educating audiences on Chinese orchestral music. Despite its relatively recent establishment, the ensemble has already performed in prestigious events organised by The Esplanade, National Arts Council, and National Parks Board, gaining recognition for its contribution to the arts.
