Charlene Chua

Charlene is a recent graduate of Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film & Media, where she earned a diploma with merit in Film, Sound and Video. What began as a childhood hobby of editing videos in her free time gradually evolved into a passion for storytelling and filmmaking. During her studies, she discovered a strong affinity for directing, where she found joy in shaping performances, visuals, and sound into cohesive narratives that bring her vision to life.

Over the course of her diploma, Charlene directed five short films as part of her academic projects, exploring themes of identity, family, and childhood imagination. Her most recent work, I Like Pink Too…, earned her nominations for Best Director and Best Screenplay, recognising both her creative vision and her ability to balance emotional depth with visual storytelling.

Beyond film school, Charlene continues to cultivate her love for storytelling while broadening her horizons. She is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management at Singapore Management University but remains deeply connected to filmmaking, working on passion projects in her free time.
