Darren Yee is a Singaporean filmmaker and Director of Photography, holding a Diploma in Film, Sound & Video from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a strong interest in using visual language to shape atmosphere, emotion and the audience’s connection to a story.

Darren has worked across a range of productions, including short films, music videos and short-form reel advertisements. Alongside his work as a Director of Photography, he has also taken on the role of colourist, allowing him to explore the creative process from image capture through to the final look of a project.

As a cinematographer, Darren is particularly interested in the relationship between
composition, lighting and colour. He approaches each project collaboratively, working to develop a visual language that complements the director’s vision while giving each story its own distinct identity.

As an emerging filmmaker, Darren continues to expand his visual practice across narrative, music and commercial work, with the aim of creating imagery that is not only visually striking, but meaningful to the stories and people behind it.
