Janis Lim Hui is a young Singaporean artist and filmmaker, who is currently a Digital Film and Television final year student at Temasek Polytechnic. She enjoys exploring facets of local themes pertaining to family and social problems through whimsical and passionate storytelling in her live-action and animated films.
She has effectively applied her strong foundation in illustration and theatre in her directorial debut with the short film, Dancing with Dementia (2021). During her internship at Our Grandfather Story, Janis has worked on numerous projects with reputable brands across Singapore and Government sectors; some examples are the Smart Nation and Digital Government Office, United Overseas Bank, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Singapore Tourism Board, Esplanade and much more.
As a dedicated freelancer for a decade, Janis has established herself in the industry by taking part in multiple projects in various roles. Janis’ focus is to hone her storytelling ability while harnessing her knowledge across different mediums of media. There is nothing she loves more than stories that root their way into your very fibers and make themselves a part of the audience; creating a pattern of images that dance about in your mind, like a movie picture, creating something unforgettable and touching the heart.
