Jonathan Choo

Jonathan Choo is a graduate of the National Film and Television School, with an MA in Directing Fiction. A filmmaker inspired by the likes of Johnnie To, Wim Wenders, and Yasujiro Ozu, Jonathan’s work blends comedy with bittersweet drama to tell stories about characters seeking hope and redemption. His films, including Han (2016), Rehearsal (2017), Reaction (2021), and Caifan Haiku (2022), have been showcased at international film festivals.

Through his work, Jonathan explores the complexities of family tensions and the changing dynamics of modern society. He believes in the power of cinema to inspire hope, and even transform lives, aspiring to make films that do just that. With each project, he seeks to continue crafting stories that audiences can find themselves in.
