Karissa is a 23-year-old creative fascinated by the medium of film and its potential to spark universal change. Her interest in creative writing and storytelling ignites her passion to capture the nuances of global issues through documentary filmmaking.

Having filmed nine short films, her work is diversified in genre, ranging from narrative drama to performative documentaries that span across Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore). Within four years, she has worked on films as a Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Screenwriter and Sound Mixer.
Karissa now holds a degree in Communication Studies with a specialisation in Broadcast from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), and is currently working as a Junior Director | Writer at The Story Behind.
