Kee Teck En

I'm Teck En, a passionate storyteller who tries using any and every form to express himself. I enjoy the artistic and creative aspects that comes with filmmaking and how it can express any feeling and message that one has. While I may not be the most proficient at expressing myself, working as a team helps to provide ideas that can put my thoughts and emotions into the film.

Having explored each aspect of filmmaking, I've found that editing is my favorite of them. Editing allows me to input my own style into a film, as there are many different ways we can edit the clips and nuances that we can add through it. With "Heartland", I had help from my lecturers, and my fellow groupmates to find a way to convey the 'Kampung Spirit' and yet the loneliness that Aunty Pearly faces as she works in her shop. We made sure to arrange the flow the film such that it was properly balanced between humour and pathos such that audiences could feel and empathise with her while still having a fun time. This experience has allowed me to improve as a filmmaker and I hope to get such opportunities again.
