Kleif Tan, an NTU ADM undergraduate, is an emerging voice that explores narratives both thought-provoking and emotionally charged. With a passion for telling profound stories deeply rooted in the authenticity of life’s most unvarnished moment, his approach to directing is heavily influenced by his fascination with the truthful and honest dark facets of the human psyche. Kleif has co-directed Paper Sky (2023, Mental Health Film Festival) which won Best Overall Film in the Youth category. He has also recently lensed his first short film, Jupiter From Kembangan (2024, dir. Gerard Nagulendran).
He hopes to emphasise creating films marked by a riveting emotional resonance. Whether through a lingering glance, a quiet sigh, or a moment of introspection, Kleif aims to push and challenge viewers to confront the complexities of the human condition. To illuminate hidden corners of the soul, revealing the beauty and fragility of life in its most honest form.
With every new project, Kleif continues to establish himself as a storyteller who dares to delve into the shadows and bring light to the unseen.
