Yuzheng Lim was born and raised in Singapore. He graduated with BA(Hons) in Film at LASALLE College of the Arts, Puttnam School of Film & Animation.
As an aspiring cinematographer, Yuzheng has also taken a step towards directing in recent years, transcending his visual sensitivity and voice on-screen. His interests lie in the connection between the living and the spaces, capturing the transience and nuances of everyday life.
Among some of the films he has lensed, The Smell of Coffee has its world premiere at the 66th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen. His first directorial short Mothers was selected for the 33rd Singapore International Film Festival and Odense International Film Festival. In 2023, his thesis film Today’s Sunlight Falls Weakly On You was selected for the 52nd Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist as part of the International Student Competition Program. It also won the Student Camera award at the 42nd Filmschoolfest Munich. Currently, he is writing his first personal short film, Wake Me Up When It Ends.
