Mira Marisha binte Muhd Yusuf

Mira is a Singaporean filmmaker and screenwriter drawn to both production design and writing as mediums for exploring the beauty embedded in everyday life. Her work frequently engages with themes of womanhood, memory and cultural identity, particularly through the lens of Asian heritage.

Mira writes stories of girlhood and femininity to explore their tenderness, contradictions and quiet complexities. She is interested in the unspoken—the fleeting glances, internal conflicts and small, defining moments that often go unnoticed yet leave lasting impressions.

Whether constructing visual worlds or crafting narratives, she finds inspiration in nostalgia, in the textures and storytelling of fashion, and within the subtle rituals that shape daily living, aiming to create work that is personal, intentional and emotionally resonant. Mira finds joy in creating props, tinkering with materials and set details and developing inventive, resourceful solutions to creative challenges. She is especially drawn to the in-between stages of making: experimenting, problem-solving and uncovering the unexpected in the process. With a resourceful and imaginative approach, she delights in turning limitations into possibilities.
