Jaasir has always made sense of the world through the prism of stories. Books, TV and films provided him a window into the world, humanity and himself, teaching him about kindness, empathy, friendship and family, and moulding him into the person he is today. Jaasir’s interest in film began when he saw Titanic for the first time as a child. Surprised by how profoundly he was affected by the movie, he truly came to understand the power of cinema. From that moment, film became the only thing he wanted to do – telling stories that move and resonate with people. While his aims and motives in filmmaking have evolved over the years, his throughline has remained the same - to tell stories.
