Nah Yee Chern

Nah Yee Chern is an animator born and raised in Singapore. He graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with first-class honours in Ba(Hons) Animation Art.

Being involved in the DIY community as a kid, Yee Chern took interest in stop-motion, a medium that combines engineering and storytelling disciplines. He directed his first stop-motion film ‘Everything’s Peachy’, based on the themes of religious abuse, loosely inspired by the experience of a close friend.

Yee Chern’s work often takes a whimsical tone and style, using doodles to illustrate the human condition while maintaining a youthful and humorous aesthetic. He also created original comic zines spanning action and horror genres. He aims to pursue a career as a story artist, as well as a PhD in comic studies in the future. His work has been recognised by local and global festivals, such as Singapore International Film Festival, Singapore Youth Film Festival, Tokyo International Film Festival and Annecy International Animation Festival.
