Philip graduated from Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, specialising in Broadcast and Cinema Studies. He has worked on multiple award-winning and nominated student short films, mostly taking on the role of Cinematographer/Director of Photography. He was nominated for Best Cinematographer at the National Youth Film Awards 2023 for his work on Playing Pondan (2022).
