Rowena Joy Eber

Rowena Joy Eber is a Singapore-based filmmaker and writer who recently graduated from the Digital Film and Television course at Temasek Polytechnic and is currently continuing her studies at NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. With a focus on directing and writing, she is interested in exploring different forms of storytelling and finding new ways to bring untold stories and fresh perspectives to life.

Her creative practice spans narrative films, documentaries and commercial work, often exploring themes of identity, change and human connection. Across different genres and mediums, Rowena is drawn to stories that approach difficult or complex topics in ways that are accessible, emotionally resonant and thought-provoking. She believes filmmaking can be a powerful tool for starting conversations, encouraging empathy and inspiring audiences to
look at familiar issues from new perspectives.

Rowena has developed her practice through mentorships and programmes with local arts organisations, including Honour, the SG60 Flex Your Passion Mentorship Programme and FreedomFilmFest. She hopes to continue growing as a filmmaker and writer, creating meaningful stories that challenge perspectives while remaining grounded in the human experiences behind them.
