Song Zhi Yi (Dan) is a cinematographer and gaffer based in Singapore. His work spans from fictional films, documentaries as well as commercial and corporate work. Dan was awarded the Student Camera Award for Best Cinematography at the 42nd Munich Festival of Film Schools in 2023 for his work on his undergrad thesis film, Today’s Sunlight Falls Weakly On You, which premiered In Competition at the 52nd Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival.

Dan has gaffed for numerous narrative and commercial projects, whom has travelled to multiple film festivals around the world such as Dokufest, ZINEBI, International Festival of Films on Art (Le FIFA) and the Singapore International Film Festival. Dan primarily aims to keep telling interesting and unique stories about the human condition, and is always seeking to collaborate with filmmakers to achieve their vision and stories.
