Ya Hui finds solace in people-watching, letting her thoughts roam free. This curiosity sparked her passion for storytelling, evolving from sharing tales with friends to making her mark in Singapore’s filmmaking realm. With an eye for detail and an interest in human connections, she directed Sacred Cow (2024) and edited Motherland (2022), which received the Jury’s Choice of New York Indie Shorts and earned her a nomination for Best Editor in the Open Youth category NYFA (2022).
Drawing from the heart of both a director and an editor, Ya Hui continues to craft narratives that transform raw footage into compelling stories that resonate with audiences.
