Valerie Theodas is an American-born, Singapore-raised interdisciplinary artist working across fine arts, filmmaking, photography, illustration, design and animation. She graduated from the School of the Arts, Singapore (SOTA) in 2023 with a background in Visual Arts and is currently in her second year of film school at Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media. Valerie is particularly interested in directing, cinematography, editing and production design.

Her artistic practice involves analysing her dreams, mythology, the subconscious, and her own vulnerabilities to find sources of inspiration. Through visual storytelling and experimentation, she hopes to explore how to blur the line between internal and external worlds, in an effort to understand herself as well as broader existential and psychological truths.
